Mishka had a unique childhood and extraordinary upbringing. Born to a Bermudian father and Nova Scotian mother, he grew up on his family’s boat, sailing from island to island in the Caribbean. A child of the islands, it was almost inevitable that he’d be drawn to reggae, Rastafari, and the natural mystic that inhabits his music and his soul. Talk About is his fourth album and the second release for Matthew McConaughey’s j.k. livin’ label. “The music I heard growing up from my parents, sisters and the places we visited gave me a lot of musical and cultural flexibility. Everything I’ve ever heard blends together in what I do. I’m a huge reggae fan but there’s folk, soul, rock and other elements in the music.” Mishka’s international outlook is a product of his nautical background. “We sailed all over the Atlantic and Caribbean,” Mishka recalls. “We visited Brazil, all the Caribbean islands, even made a cross-Atlantic trip to Portugal and England.” Mishka and his sisters were home schooled until they went to boarding school for their higher education. “Learning how to read maps and chart a course was my math and geography class, going ashore in different countries and talking to people about their culture was my history class, reading books on board was my literary education, picking up French and Portuguese in the ports we visited was my language school.” The boat had a small battery-run cassette player and Mishka heard the music his parents loved: The Beatles, Jimmy Cliff, Dylan and Jimmy Buffett. “My sisters turned me on to the Police, Cars and Roxy Music, but when I heard Burning Spear, Culture, and Bob Marley, I got addicted to roots reggae.” Mishka was signed to Alan McGee’s Creation label in the UK in 1997. In 1999, Mishka released his first single, “Give You All the Love” which was an immediate success charting in the Top 40 in the UK and Top 10 in Japan. Mishka released his self-titled debut album Mishka later that year which received much critical acclaim in both the UK and Japan. Mishka’s second album One Tree was produced by Swedish producer Martin Terefe (KT Tunstall, James Morrison) in 2005. On his third album, Above the Bones, Mishka worked with long time Sly & Robbie guitarist, Daryl Thompson, who played for many years with Peter Tosh and Black Uhuru. It was at this time that Mishka met actor Matthew McConaughey. The two shared a deeply rooted appreciation for reggae music and it was a natural fit for McConaughey to sign Mishka to his j.k. livin' record label. In February of 2009, Above the Bones debuted at #1 on the Billboard Reggae Charts and Mishka was named 2009’s Best New Artist in the singer/songwriter category by iTunes. Mishka released his latest album, Talk About, on March 30th, 2010. It again debuted at #1 on the iTunes Reggae chart and includes the song “Homegrown” that features the legendary Willie Nelson. Talk About also features “Stars Will Be Shining” and “Give Them Love”, produced by the highly praised Butch Walker (Pete Yorn, Pink, Fall Out Boy). “This is an album of movement of stepping outside the box of traditional folk-reggae and adding a real mainstream rock influence,” says Mishka. “Butch works fast, he works efficiently and he knows how to cultivate those rock tones in the artists he works with.” The album’s 13 tracks span a distinct ebb-and-flow, from the fast paced and up-beat first half to a more mellow and introspective second half. “In the days of the LP, this would definitely be an A-side/B-side type record,” Mishka commented. The title track, “Talk About,” explores the imbalance of words versus action, a lyrical theme that runs through much of Mishka’s work. “People make statements about love, equality, and peace and then try to measure their quantity in instant gratification,” he explains. “Whereas those things are really about a long-term way of life where all your actions, not words, add up.”

BoomBox is Producer/Engineer/DJ/Drummer Russ Randolph and Producer/DJ/Vocalist/Guitarist Zion Rock Godchaux. This pair of dynamic artists uses their rich musical history and their vision of music and popular culture to deliver a style of music distinctly different from anything heard or seen in music today. This signature sound and show brings live music to a new, elevated level. BoomBox evolved through the common visualization of two forward-thinking artists from diverse musical backgrounds. Raised by supportive and musically inclined parents, both Godchaux and Randolph had an obsession with music at very young ages. Godchaux, who grew up with deeply embedded rock and roll roots, began playing drums at the age of two, and played guitar and wrote his own songs as a teen. During the 90s, Godchaux was a well-received touring DJ based out of the San Francisco area. Randolph began as a young drummer, but it’s what was happening behind the scenes that attracted him most. As much producers as they are musicians, it is Randolph’s knack for engineering, Godchaux's understanding of soundscapes and the duo's rich ability to improvise live that keeps BoomBox resonating at higher levels.

Ancient Tongue is a hip hop collective of 5 musicians from Long Island, New York who create music from the roots, hearts and minds. Bringing hip hop back to its elements: The MC, the DJ, the basslines and the drum breaks: Ancient Tongue continues to create original music forged in the past, present and future. Their organic instrumentation, socially/politically/spiritually conscious lyrics, and undeniable energy have placed them on stage with such acts as KRS-One, BlackSheep, EPMD, Ill Bill (Non Phixion), Q-Unique (The Arsonists), Grandmaster Caz, RA the Ruggedman, Killer Priest (Wu-Tang), C-Rayz Wallz, Kool Herc & more and have earned them sponsorships from Element Skateboards and Genuine Artikle Clothing. Their first full length release "Time Tells Tales" combines musical elements of Hip-Hop, Dub, Electronica and Rock with the traveling tales of lyricist, Deap One. With infinate layers of rhythms and grooves, samples and scratches, similes and metaphors, Ancient Tongue is climbing from sea level to mountain top, roots to ridges with unstoppable speed and determination.

The Forensics as a band, formed in January of 2009. An accidental union of old friends which turned out to be the perfect ingredients for "The Electronic Pursuasion" (a nickname for their sound). They're best described as an Electronica Jam Band. A unique vibe which turns ordinary people into dancefloor dwellers craving MORE like junkies!! Patchogue (P-Town), NY (out in the suburbs of Long Island) has been the epicenter of their humble beginnings. A fan base quickly formed as the same faces started following them around the county. In a single season the Forensics (4NZX) had naturally achieved through their music what some bands strive for but rarely come close too... a following. Since their recent start, the fan base has grown & grown... the future is coming fast & as the set list gets longer and the tracks get tighter, the Forensics will surely be playing larger & larger venues. The Subjective Perspective is an outstanding medley of intense and addicting music and lyrics. The Subjective Perspective is a working class duo born and raised in the New York City area. The music embodies the spontaneous spirit of Kerouac and the energy is off the charts. The Subjective Perspective is comprised of Nick and Lisa. When on the west coast they are joined by the featured guitar sounds of Cabby. Nick has been sharing the music he has created since 1997. He began his journey in song writing and performance by rhyming at parties throughout his adolescent years, and his experiences gave rise to his appreciation and thirst for creating music and sharing it with the world around him. Lisa was also born and raised in the New York CIty area, near the neighborhood Nick grew up in. Her voice ties each song together with the glue of an angels breath. Lisa has been singing her entire life. The Subjective Perspective is a magical experience bringing these talents together.
